Festival Fashion at Desert Hearts 2017

Desert Hearts is the mecca of festival fashion. I knew the DH crew has some of the best-looking fans, I just was not prepared for how many amazing outfits I would witness in the short time I was there. Let me break it down for you...

SEQUINS
The girls (and guys!) at DH will find every way possible to wear sequins. I loved seeing all the creative ways designers are using reversible sequins. No longer relegated to pillows and hoods, wear a pair of hot pants made out of reversible sequins and you'll be getting requests to rub your butt all day long. 

My favorite item I saw for sale was the sequin kimonos made by B-Glittz. I was too slow to purchase the one I had my eye on, but will keep a look out for when it is restocked on their website.

FAUX FUR
As the temperatures dipped into the 40s at night, it's no surprise fur was one of the most popular items to wear. Big coats and capes were the best option to keep out the cold. My eyes have seen hundreds of new patterns, colors, and styles of faux fur. The unique ways fur is being lit up with el-wire and LEDs is mind boggling. I can't wait to try and experiment with some ideas of my own. The number of vendors selling beautiful fur pieces was quite impressive. Had I been looking to purchase a new coat, this would have been one of the best places in the world to shop. 

On a side note, it was a dual bummer/blessing that many of the merchants were unable to take credit cards. The lack of cell reception made it impossible. I know many people who would have made more purchases but were held back by their lack of cash. If in the future there is a way to provide WiFi to the vendors they will be able to sell even more amazing items.

ACCESSORIES
Fun and colorful heart sunglasses are a given here. Why not show your love for the DH crew right on your face? Self-promotion opportunity: I just posted some cool new heart-shaped designs in my shop.

I also saw some incredible sippy cups, pimp cups, and other bedazzled drinking vessels. I'm not sure if totems count as accessories, but to no one's surprise, the totems at DH were some of the best I've seen.

BUTT CHEEKS
The number of beautiful tushes parading around the reservation was undeniable. Please do not forget to put some SPF on down there! A sunburned behind sounds like an awful way to ride home on Monday.
